How to fix petrol/gasoline coming from a lawnmower carb. If you put petrol in your lawnmower and it comes spilling out after a few seconds watch this vid and find out how to fix it, for free
First check the fuel tank and lines for cracks or perishing. If they are good, check that the hose is securely attached to the tank and carb, you don’t want it to be loose. If you still can’t find the problem you will have to take the carb apart. Watch the vid and find out how. (Note: This could also be applied to motorcycle carbs.) Good on ya at fixing your mower!
@XSecret666SquirrelX Thank you for your kind words! I’m glad I could help!
Hi,
admittedly I have watched only several videos on ‘how to’ do things. I was disappointed with one, though still grateful that someone had even tried to help. Detecting a leaking mower carby I then found your video.
Wow!! Rarely am I this impressed! In my opinion, you gave close to the best possible explanation of this process. All your comments were concise, important, relevant and straightforward. Sensibly warning and advising at each and every part.
Very well done!
Thank you
@gpzDave Wow, I only commented 8 hours ago? That doesn’t seem right.
Since then I pulled the carb again, removed the float and found a bunch of gunk I missed. Now I have a working riding lawnmower that was headed to the dump.
@beastlt12 No problem!
Thanks. My carb is having float problems I think. (the vacuum line shoots gas out)
Appreciate the video/help
@Endeavour2012 I’m glad I could help
Thanx, great video. It helped me understand what the float bowl and needle was.
at AUTOZONE they have their own brand called AUTOZONE Carb Cleaner. for only $2.60, that stuff is very in-expensive. Great video again, and I fixed my mower
@vedderrules Thanks man! Subscribe for more vids
@gpzDave Well, it was VERY useful as my lawnmower had exactly the same carb on it! I took it off, cleaned it out and finally it started so I managed to do my lawns all with the help of your tutorial.
@vedderrules Hey man! I’m glad you liked it
@EngineTalk yeah youre right, i used the glue because that was the closest thing to liquid gasket i could find. but now you’ve reminded me I’ll buy some for future use
Hey Dave, thanks for the video – much appreciated.
Great fix there Dave. One thing I noticed: Instead of using a soft glue, how about using a liquid gasket? I bought a big tube of liquid gasket rated for high pressure and petrol/brake fluid/antifreeze, etc.. Cost me equiv. £9 and works great. Glue can yield problems at a later time and can be hard to remove if needed.
