Ok, so here is a little history on my gas tank. Its off of my 96 cbr F3. Its my project bike Im working on at the moment. When I took a look inside the gas tank the first day I brought it home, there was a TON of rust, old gasoline, and grime. I removed the petcock with its decomposing filter and drained the tank. I then sprayed a bunch of of carb cleaner thinking it would remove rust …. ha ha ha , Im a idiot. SO i found that vinegar removes rust, I did the vinegar thing (5 gallons topped off the tank, let it sit overnight, and it was spotless. Although a lot of rust came back because I didnt nuteralize the acid “vinegar”. Rather then getting more gallons of vinegar, I found a chemical called EVAPORUST. It didnt need to be nuteralized after use, its reusable, it biodegratable and it doesnt harm paint. Plus, after draining the tank, if you let the residual fluid air dry, it will leave a coating that will prevent rust for about 2 weeks. I was sold on it. I only spent for a gallon of the stuff. After rinsing out all the vinegar residue, I sealed off all the openings on the gas tank with duct tape. I then poured the EVAPORUST in and let it sit for an hour. After an hour I noticed that it was working REALLY well. I then turned the gas tank onto its side for another hour. I kept switching the tanks position every hour for a few hours to make sure I covered every inch of the tank. I then drained the fluid back into the container and found that the rust no longer remained
